Digital Craft

Digital Craft recognizes the specialized skills demonstrated in online, mobile, and other digital channels.

ELIGIBILITY: January 1, 2020 - March 26, 2021

INFORMATION: Project information is required on all entries. A detailed project description (300 words or less) is not required, but is highly recommended.

MEDIA: Each category accepts specific media types. Judging and Supporting media can be attached to your entry after your category is selected.

  • Judging Media: The primary material and content that the jury will be judging.
  • Supporting Media: Secondary material and content that the jury may choose to review at their discretion.
  • Reference Media: These images will be used for reference but will not be judged.

A single (1) or series (2-5) of branded online tools, websites, or mobile applications that facilitates a useful function for the user.

DC_02: UX / UI - User Experience / CX / DX
Final Deadline Fee: $750.00

Overall ease of use of a single (1) or series (2-5) of websites or mobile applications created for a brand, product, message, or service. Includes work integrated across multiple digital channels.

DC_03: UX / UI - Interface Design
Final Deadline Fee: $750.00

Overall look and feel of a single (1) or series (2-5) of websites or mobile applications created for a brand, product, message, or service.

DC_04: Use of Smart Devices & Voice Assistants
Final Deadline Fee: $750.00

Use of a single (1) or series (2-5) of smart devices or platforms to communicate and interact with consumers on behalf of a brand. Includes wearables, smart speakers, Google Home, Alexa, Apple Siri, Facebook Portal, etc.

A single (1) or series (2-5) of branded user experiences that provide a seamless integration between at least one digital device or platform and one physical object.
NOTE: Entries must represent a single work across 2-5 different mediums, including at least 1 physical and 1 digital.

A single (1) or series (2-5) of work for which data was gathered, interpreted, and used to engage with an audience. Data must have played an integral role in the brand's message or distribution strategy.

Visual effects applied to a single (1) or series (2-5) of websites, mobile applications, smart devices, or other interactive digital work. Includes motion graphics, virtual reality, augmented reality, etc.

DC_08: Visual & Audio Craft - Animation
Final Deadline Fee: $750.00

Animation applied to a single (1) or series (2-5) of websites, mobile applications, smart devices, or other interactive digital work.

DC_09: Visual & Audio Craft - Music
Final Deadline Fee: $750.00

Use of original or adapted licensed music in a single (1) or series (2-5) of websites, mobile applications, smart devices, or other interactive digital work.

DC_10: Visual & Audio Craft - Sound
Final Deadline Fee: $750.00

Sound design for a single (1) or series (2-5) of websites, mobile applications, smart devices, or other interactive digital work. Also includes sound effects.

DC_11: Innovation in Digital Craft
Final Deadline Fee: $750.00

A single (1) or series (2-5) of digital and interactive work that explores transformative ideas, devices, or methods in its execution and pushes the discipline forward.
NOTE: Entries must include a written explanation of the innovative and transformative aspects of the work.

DC_12: Innovation in Lockdown
Final Deadline Fee: $750.00

A single (1) or series (2-5) of digital and interactive work in which innovation and ingenuity were applied to overcome limitations imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
NOTE: Entries must include a written explanation of the ingenuity of the methods used to create the work and/or to engage the client's audience in a way that addressed the challenges of the pandemic, including social distancing, travel restrictions, talent limitations, reduced budgets, work from home, etc.
